Well, here's me...
Hey guys, I'm new here, but I've been doing some research on Rosacea and I'm pretty sure I've got it. The only things that make me think otherwise is the fact that I don't really blush all that often and I don't have any pimples or pastules. My face is essentially just perpetually pink/red, and remains in that state consistently. Maybe it's skin damage? All I know is that whatever I have has taken a tremendous toll on my confidence and my social life. It sucks to have to worry about this all the time!
the only pictures I have are from hiking/traveling so they're all in natural light. Thanks in advance for any information!

In all honesty I can see some redness in the second photo but nothing at all bad. Could you describe you skin some more...
where is the redness? just over your nose/cheeks?
do you flush? (as opposed to blush)
does your skin feel flaky? dry? itchy?
what are you using on your skin?
Could you take another photo but alot closer?

I'll take a photo as soon as I can, but I don't have my camera on hand. I had pretty severe acne for years but that has basically subsided and now my face is just pink like it is in the second picture. It doesn't vary much but it is always just....different. Maybe I'm overreacting, who knows?

What acne meds did you use?

Oh, man...I used all manner of benzyol peroxide solutions. The ones the doc gave me did burn my face and it would get very, very red for about an hour or so, so I stopped using it after a little while. That was years ago. I've also used Proactive and I was given Sodium Sulfacetamide and Differin from my doc. None of them worked. The only thing that eventually cleared the majority of my acne was time. I'll have to get back with a more comprehensive list, although the Sulfacetamide was prescribed for the rosacea. In the words of my doctor, "the majority of your face is acne, with probably a little bit of rosacea brewing."

I found that acne meds my rosacea worse, but I had rosacea already. As you mentioned those meds can be very irritating to the skin, I guess they may have caused a little of your redness or perhaps just made your skin more sensitive. It doesnt mean you have rosacea though, perhaps you just have to be careful with your skin in the future and treat it kindly.

My redness looks exactly like yours. Not really red red but blotchy, damaged and irritated. Laser helped a lot but my moderate acne ( but which does not respond to antibiotics ) is the one thing I have to deal with before getting rid of the redness for good ( one more PDL treatment should be enough ).

Dude, you are definitely overreacting. You look fine. Go on, live your life. Don't sweat it. I don't think your doctor, "with a little bit of rosacea brewing" helped you much by telling you that and causing you to worry.

Anyway, that's my advice for what it's worth.

I totally agree. You don't have rosacea.
