    Question Is this rosacea? Photos

Even since I became pregnant (I am 11 weeks now) I noticed that I have gotten this dry patches on my cheeks and all around my face. Lotion doesn't help the dryness. I am starting to think that I have developed rosacea.

Also- I know that rosacea doesn't have a cure... but I heard that things that spark up during pregnancy could go away when the baby is born... has anyone heard of rosacea coming and going with pregnancy?

Hi and welcome to the forum

We have had a few people on the forum who have come here after seemingly developing rosacea after getting pregnant. I think the hormones can play havoc with the skin and can set off flushing but as to whether it is rosacea I am unsure. Having looked at your photos I think it might be something else. Can you describe your skin a little more? have you made an appointment to see your doctor?

    Best wishes

Having never been pregnant, the cause of a pregnancy, and just generally avoiding pregnant women in general, I am ill-equipped to deliver a verdict.

That said, I thought from reading posts on here, that all kinds of crazy skin things have happened to women during pregnancy. It could just be some run of the mill acne, a little seb derm, etc. It may all clear after your pregnancy.

Thank you for your responses! After looking around some, I think it may possibly be seb derm... not sure.

To describe it, it is mainly worse on my check bones, under my eyes. Its really dry and scratchy... lotion doesn't seem to help. The red patches are again, mainly under my eyes, but I have random small bumps all along my cheeks and my chin. It just seems really dry and sand paper like...

Oh and not a bad idea staying away from pregnant woman! Lol.
