I was doing some research regarding Reynaud's and apparently it can be associated with cyclosporin treatment. I'm assuming the article was referring to cancer treatment using cyclosporine but I'm sure a lot of us are using Restasis for ocular rosacea - in which case the active ingredient is cyclosporine. Come to think of it, I never had cold hands/nose/ears until well after starting Restasis. Maybe a connection?

Not for me since I have never used restasis but interesting thought.

However, if the restasis was a contributing factor to your Raynaud's perhaps if you discontinue it the Raynaud's would abate?
I would discuss this with your doctor.

Turns out smoking and inflammary problems can cause Reynaud's too. These are probably more likely scenarios for me personally since I smoke and think my rosacea is part of a wider inflammatory disorder. As for the smoking I'm currently on the nicotine patch - so thats a start. Not much I can do about the inflammation though =(

In addition to the hands, Reynaud's commonly affects the nose, ears, and feet - so if you posted on this thread there's a good chance you have at least a mild form of it.

It is a good start -

You are now a "former smoker" like myself
and just working on the nicotine addiction.

Yeah I quit for 4 years before but my blepharitis got me smoking again - then came the rosacea and reynaud's. I love the nicotine patch more than anything - it literally gets me high for like 30 minutes after I put it on in the morning. It's safe to say I'll be on the nicotine patch for at least 6 months =)

Default Laser Treatment for hands ?

"I am looking to get tested for Hypothyroidism this week as my sister has it and I seem to have a lot of the symptoms. "

Now your freaking me out. I have the constant cold hands and cold nose/ extremely warm nose which isn't that unusual for someone with rosacea but my sister had a thyroid problem also. You must be my Canadian doppelganger. If you figure something out, please send me a private message because we seem to have the same genetics. I went to a herbal doctor and the mixture she gave me sure costs alot, helps a little bit. The IPL treatment helped the flushing of my face to minimise blood vessels so does anyone know if there's' a corresponding treatment to get blood pumping through the hands.

My raynauds gets worse and worse every year and as I play guitar everyday, its particuarly inconvenient. I'm pretty sure the guitar playing actively makes it worse.

When I go to bed at night, my hands are freezing and my nose is flushing, the rest of my face doesn't flush after the IPL but there is an exact correlation between my hands warming up and my nose cooling down.

My feet are always cold, and having gone to the doctor they told me I had chillblains:

Basically wearing socks and slippers around the house, wearing bed socks, wearing warm socks was the advice but very interesting to know that it may be linked to Rosacea as many of you seem to have similar problems.

I also feel my face gets the majority of the bloodflow in my body, and always feels warm/hot. It's funny to think that this is somehow restricting/limiting bloodflow to other parts of the body. The body is a strange thing indeed
