Default Anyone going/been on holiday this summer?

I am going surfing in Portugal in a few weeks and am very much looking forward to it. The Rosacea factor is putting me off a little and I hope it doesn't flare up, but, some people have reported that seawater has a positive effect on rosacea so there is still hope! I have my SPF50 Lotion at the ready and some Zinc Sunblock (in 3 different colours!) at the ready so I might look like a moron to some but will be well protected nonetheless

How about yourselves - off anywhere nice? Returned from an exotic holiday somewhere? Or just spent a quiet week at home taking it easy? Or did Rosacea stop you from making plans I almost gave up on this whole holiday, but, I changed my mind. I hope its the right choice!

It most definitely is the right choice!

You will feel better for having gone on holiday and not letting rosacea control you. Good for you! I hope you have a wonderful time and try and relax and forget about rosacea. Just make sure you protect yourself with sunblock or a hat when you are outside.

    Have fun!

PS I have never been but always wanted to go to Portugal. Pictures would be nice if you were so inclined

I grew up with many friends from portugal and they still go back almost yearly. It is undoubtedly a beautiful place and you will have so much fun you won't even remember you have Rosacea.

I actually just went to Montreal last month (I live in Toronto, Canada - Montreal is only a 5 hour drive from here). It was hot and sunny and I walked around all day and my skin actually improved still. Amazing what some R&R will do.

I am headed to New York at the beginning of August for some more R&R. I am definitely an urban vacationer, I thoroughly enjoy exploring cities. After my workload lightens up after the Christmas season I plan on taking all of February 2009 off and dong some European exploration (maybe start in Dusseldorf where I have a good friend and go from there).

I hope once I'm there I can just forget about it. In fact, it is at times when I forget about my Rosacea that it is less of a problem, not just psychologically, but also physically. In my case I am fairly certain that it is stress related because this year has been one hell of a horrible year and I am just desperate to RELAX ...

Not sure how well covered I can be whilst on a surf-board, but for the rest of the time I will be cautious. I am quite partial to taking a photo or two so I'm sure there'll be plenty of holiday snaps by the time I get back

I have two weeks off at the end of August/beginning of December. At the moment I have no real plans but something usually comes up
