    Default Hydrocortisone Cream

Hi I know in the past posts people have raved about this cream for treating seb derm however Im not sure if I have got the right one as it says its not to be used on the face or on acne.

The lable on the tube says Hc45 Hydrocortisone Cream 1.0% (Hydrocortisone Acetate) treatment for eczema dermatitis.

    Ingredients include:
White soft Paraffin Cetomacrogol Emulsifying wax liquid pariffin phenoxyethanol purified water

Will this help with reducing redness?
    thanks

funny timing..i just went to buy some over the counter and they wouldnt sell it to me when I told them it was for my face. So i just went to another pharmacy.

Anyway, your cream is the same one I just picked up. I think it can be used short term on the face - at least thats what Im going to do - but shouldnt be used long term as it can thin the skin and cause broken blood vessels. Some people even develop 'steroid-induced' rosacea from long-term use!
So tread carefully, but short term I think its OK..I'm sure other people can give you a more definite answer though.

Yes, 1% is the one you could use on your face.

I personally would not recommend this for long term use but to knock back a seb derm flare it can be very effective.

    Default hydrocortisone cream

thanks philka I have noticed a few more red bumps on my face cropping up I didnt think I would have continured to get these as it has been 3weeks since my last IPL.

I have 2 red marks that only turn red when I touch or scratch them and can be itchy they are around my eyebrows so Im presuming this is sebderm as Ive never had this reaction before.

Handy 2have this cream just in case lol

hope things r still going great 4u!

Se my post reply on getting redder from using hydrocortisone cream. Depending on the area of the face I prefer the lotions, the parafin base is not the most elegant cosmetically and is very oily/greasy. In small no oily areas it works great.

    Ally,

That's the one I've got in just in case of a post-IPL flare. I like the idea of a lotion, as J Mill mentions, but have never seen any behind the counter here in the UK. Dr Crouch told me I could use hydrocortisone twice a day for a week if I had a flare - hoping I won't, though!
