Default Is this considered mild rosacea?

I took these pics when it was irritating me - tingling and feeling tight. This isn't it at it's worst, but even this gets me down.

I'm always paranoid! A lot of the time I feel the horrible sensation, but don't go red, but other times I'll go red, so I'm always looking in mirrors! I hate it.

Mild, yes. But certainly worth treating. Rosacea can often get worse if you don't train your sights on it.

What skincare products do you use (cleanser etc) - this might be the first thing to look at, for anything harsh.

    Hey,

I'm using Zenmed products at the moment for my face. So far, I see no change but I've only used it for a few days so far, before that I used 'Simple' brand for sensative skin.

    Hi,

Which Simple one was it - the foaming or the lotion? The foaming one contains quite a harsh ingredient; and in fact, even the lotion aggravated my rosacea a bit, for some reason.

Generally getting your wash routine as gentle as possible is a great first port of call. Little things like not washing with hot water (instead, just luke warm when you do your face), not scrubbing away with a towel - they can make a big difference over time.

You might already have all this covered. You could maybe try a topical antibiotic cream like metrolotion. Its just, you want to try and not overcomplicate things, you know - if you can solve the problem with a gentle cleanser, and avoid antibiotics, that's got to be a good thing.

It wasn't the foaming cleanser, it was the 'purifying cleaning lotion' that I used. I think I found the moisteriser the most bothering thing though. It contains Tocopheryl accetate - which I've now been told to steer clear of since it can tighten skin, which now looking back it did to mine! Well, it didn't feel normal afterward anyway.

When I wash my face, I do use luke warm water and also, I pat my face dry, never rub it.

I agree with you...I'm trying to find other ways around this before I try any kind of antibiotics. Do they actually help with the feeling you get on the face or just the redness? See, I don't have any permanent redness. It just comes and goes. I don't know if they'd give me anything, but I definately don't want it to get any worse.

IMO I think that a facial wash will only at best be able to help calm the skin, if you are still flushing then you need to address the root causes rather than the outcome.

I agree with you. I have no idea what causes the flushing, but to be honest, I don't really flush much, it's more of a feeling of having caught the sun all the time and a tight feeling, which sometimes will go red. Hmmm, now I'm thinking about it, my face doesn't feel really hot hot that often, just mostly this sunburnt tight feeling.

It never feels hot on the outside, ever, always the inside, which will make me concious and so I have to touch my face to see if it's hot, but it never feels it on the outside. I always get redness when I eat hot meals, whatever the food is.

It's strange, cos my mum thought she had this when she was my age but it turned out it was just a weird stage she was going through. Almost everything I've read about rosacea though, I can relate to.
