what is this?
I was diagnosed with Rosacea, but the last month I have had problems with my eyelids. Whenever I wear eye makeup it really irritates my eyes, the turn bright red and then the lids get tough and start peeling. I have stopped wearing eye makeup and it clears up right away. Is this related to Oscular Rosacea??
And do you know of any eye makeup that won't irritate my eyelids?
I have experienced red itchy eyes, but only now and then, and I'm not sure if it's related to allergies or oscular rosacea.
help!

Hi. Have you tried different brands of eye makeup to see if it might be a sensitivity to your brand? Also, what you are using to remove the eye makeup may be exacerbating the condition. I use Ocusoft lid scrubs to remove my eye makeup. It is very good for sensitive skin and also keeps the lid margins clear of blepharitis.
Itchiness can be a sign of allergy. Are you taking any antihistamines? Are your eyes itchy even if you don't wear eye makeup?
I would give your eyes a break from makeup for a few days so you can recover before you try another brand. It's hard to recommend something since it is an individual reaction and very specific. I just use maybelline mascara LOL.
Welcome to the Forum!

I have sensitive skin and problems with ocual rosacea and I use Almay products.
I just use water to take it off.
Another tip to control the blepharitis is lid scrubs.
My doc told me to use diluted baby shampoo and a q-tip and gently scrub the lash lines.
Hope this helps.
Good luck
