Default Ivermectin (Stromectol)- To kill the mites

My derm. prescribed me Ivermectin (Stromectol) 6 mg a night (an hour before dinner, w/ water), to attempt to kill the mites. But I have not started it yet.... anybody have any experience with this med?

p.s.- I have seb derm/rosacea/acne. And I am taking low dose accutane which has helped with my skin texture.

Sorry I haven't had any experience with ivectimin. But I was just wondering what your progress has been like since this thread is actually quite old. Any side effects? How long did you take?

    Thanks,
    Adam

I am trying to get some ivermectin at the moment. I have noticed it is not licensed for human use in the UK. It is listed as named patient basis only, which seems to mean the doctor has to contact the manufacturer, Merck, to obtain some. It is called Mectizan. I think the chances of convincing a doctor to do this is pretty slim.

Everything I have read implies it is safe. The dose is 200mcg/kg bodyweight. Followed by a second dose 7 days later to kill off any mites that are newly hatched from eggs. Apparently it kills only nymphs and adult mites, not the eggs. There is a patent for it here that describes more detail.

I dont give much for doctors anymore. Its far more complicated and time-consuming trying to beg for medicine through those uncaring asses. Cause the hardest thing with trying to solve this shit is the imopssibility of testing your theories. You go like 3-4 months waiting for the next visit and the only thing you can do is sit and watch how your skin degenerates? Just to get Finacea worthless piece of shit gel by the "I-can-just-help-you-with-standard-worthless-treatments-cause-Im-a-super-dermatologist-who-dont-care-a-shit-.about-rosacea-cause-we-have-so-many-melanomes-here-doctor".

I will start trying to order ivermectin over the internet. Any ideas of which one to choose. Ive found stromactol and mectizan??

    Im sorry for overreacting.

I used topical Ivermectin for about two or three months and it had no impact whatsoever upon my severe vascular rosacea.
The formula I used was very similar to the one used by Rachzon ( same derm). She had a complete resolution of her type of rosacea. P&P with associated redness and some flushing.

It appears that ivermectin is only affective in her type.

What type do you have, Colander?
    Previous Numerous IPL, ZZ cream.
Supplements: Vit K2, High Dose Vit C, BHCL, Digestive Enzymes, Ionic trace mineral drops, low dose iodine to correct deficiency.
Skin Care: Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser, or ZZ soap.

Treating for gut infections under specialist care. (This is helping).
    GAPS diet foods/no probiotics.

Sorry to hear it did not work for you. Mine is P&P with destroyed skin and associated redness, so I hope this can be an alternative for me. Feels like my skin is being eaten up from inside. Every new P takes the redness further making the injured area slowly grow. But on the spot on my cheeks where this began 6 years ago I dont have P's anymore. Only redness. Worrying.

I have just ordered this (60 pills): http://tramadolplus.net/item/stromectol.html

I will take one pill in the morning and one before I go to sleep. Maybe this dosage is too small to help, but if I just see any little improvement I will tell my doctor and demand prescription.

Or the opposite may happen. They send you fake tablets. No improvement happens and you conclude ivermectin is not working.

I didnt think that far actually. Well, even if they dont work I wont conclude ivermectin as useless, I will still try to get some topical later on. This is just a first and acute cry for help. :P
