Dear Martin,
how is the rosacea? today i bought hazel gel by witch doctor. I hope it helps.
I have been fighting against the rosacea during 5 years, and still.
My last treatment was 3 months antibiotics, but after 2 months that i have finished the treatment the spots and red areas appear again.
thanks,
M
Hi all,
I suffer from p&p rosacea on my chin with an otherwise clear complexion. It began in my early 20's and I've struggled to get it under control for the past 6 years. My best results are seen when using mulitple tratments together.
Most effective was;
IPL- 3 or 4 treatments ( spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart) reduced redness and scars, and p&p's shrunk and did not return for up to 5 weeks after treatment. Unfortunately, this is very expensive, approximately $200 for just my chin. An area of at most 2 square inches.
Oracea- taken daily I see fewer p&p's develop.
Gluten free diet- Eliminating gluten containing grains has reduced the amount of p&p's I develop.
Accupunture- with the right practioner I was able to get my inflammation under control and eliminate the need for the prescription Oracea. I would need to go twice a month to see the full benefit. Unfortunately my accupunturist charges $150 a session and I could not afford to continue.
Currently my strategy includes;
-strict adherence to gluten free and anti-inflammatory diet
-Oracea once a day and
-Aczone cream: I'm not sure how effective this cream really is:/
My chin remains pink, but free of p&p's with only occasional flare ups. Usually after dining out.
Hope my experiences will help someone![]()
Wow! Raw garlic seems to be my absolutely best rosacea treatment ever. I came up with this idea the other week when I ate a lot of raw garlic on a gluten free pasta dish. Two days after eating the dish, my skin looked awesome-pale and non-puffy. So I waited a week and my skin slowly returned to its normal state, flushy and swollen in the cheeks and nose. Then as an experiment I ate three cloves of raw garlic on Tue (two days ago.) I purposely stopped taking my anti-histamines and Tagamet to give it a true test. I am happy to report that my skin looks awesome. I am going to monitor it for the next few days to determine how often I have to eat garlic to achieve this result. I am guessing maybe once or twice a week. I also did some research on allicin, the active ingredient in garlic. It has been shown to "inhibit the production of inflammatory cytokines." Perhaps that is what is going on. All I can say is that right now I am happy, happy, happy. Hope this continues!

Wonderring if something like Solgar's MaxGar Garlic will have the same affect?
Cindy
Hi:
Not sure if it would help. I would guess that it would if it has the same active ingredient. Right now I am going to stick with the raw garlic. I am hoping that I can get by with eating it once per week. Then I would only have stinky breath two days or so per week and can chew a lot of gum or whatever. If I find that I have to injest it more than once per week I'll probably try a "low odor" supplement and see if that it as effective.

Wow Queta, sounds awesome. I couldn't eat garlic like that so happy to try some other way. Keep us updated. Will you consider trying a supplement form instead of the clove? I might give something a go in the mean time, but not sure what sort of supplement would be ideal.

Ive heard that Parsley is great for the garlic's after affect![]()
