    Max,

I looked up oxymetazoline eye drops and it is like an allergy drop (antihistamine), is this basically the same thing as the decongestant that Steve is putting on his face..I think I am confused..sorry..

I guess I do have redness on the inner eyelid. I covered the eyelids with makeup today but my eyelids still look red because it is the inner eyelide..Jenn

    Hi Jenn,

I know what you mean, it's strange that the box says 'don't use longer than 7 days' because of the rebound effect, but still the two people in the trial used it for weeks, with no rebound.
I guess if you use it on your skin, it's different somehow. But when you plan to use it on your inner eyelid, I'd be careful.

    Best wishes,
    Angela

Now I just forgot to report about my trial with the Nasivin without preservatives. I applied it directly to my cheeks and saw a slight increase in redness after about an hour. I don't really see why, but maybe this is because my redness is where the papules are. Maybe the oxymetazoline doesn't work very well on papules :? ?

    ben,
I am talking about using it on the inner eyelid, this is were I am red along with the outside. The outside would be ok but am wondering about the inner lower lid. I can put makeup on the outter and it covers it but you still see a slight pink tint to the inner. Although the inner eyelid is still skin so am wondering if this would still work..Jenn

Steve- how long after you apply the spray do you wash it off? the other day I left it on for about 20 mins, then washed it off with soap- did I not leave it on long enough, because I saw no difference in my redness? How long did you leave it on for before you rinsed? And, did you just rinse it off, or did you wash it off with soap?

there are some reports that the "rebound" effect was caused by one the preservatives (i've posted a link somewhere above). so this preservative caused swelling, but oxymetazoline is still able to do the trick. but once you stop it, the swelling from the allergy to the preservative takes some time to wear of...

I have left it on for 30-40 min in the past, but the other day I just left it on for 8 hours straight. I don't know if that lengthened/strengthened the effects or not.

I usually wash it off with soap & water.
