Default Melanotan. Should we rosaceans try it?

I am a complex guy thanks to the rosacea that I have. I try to stay inside as much as I can because I feel insecure with my red pulsating face. Avoid beeing notice at all cost. I am young bloke, I should be out having the time of my life but no, this is not the case. This rosacea ornament that I bare on my face has a grip over me that I can´t handle. Ive have worn it for many years but now finally in recent days I have realized that it has formed my life and made me in to what i am today. An anti social kid that is growing older with a red-heated iron mask covering my true self.
Instead of going out bowling on weekends I stay at home and drown my worries with a few shot of jagermeister and 10-12 cans of beer followed by and "hair of dog" sunday...

Now I have read about MII and MI and found that it is a effective "drug" that covers up the redness but comes with a string of side effects. I dont know how reilable the sources are, and sometimes the info posted on various sites appears to be a tad vague to me.

My question is what is the general Rosaceans thoughts about melanotan and are you, my fellow rosaceans willing to try it?

In my case what do you guys think?

    Best regards

    Mr Jager

    It's entirely up to you.
Just realize, you are considering trying a potentially dangerous drug. So, at the very least, study up before loading a single syringe.
Be aware of what you could be getting yourself into, and compare that to what you're hoping to get out of it all. Weigh the two out and find which comes out on top.
Then you'll have no need to ask anyone but yourself if you should or shouldn't.

To start, I think if you laid off the booze your rosacea might improve. That's what you call a tad excessive.

A lot of folks see improved overall health and results in their skin when they take care of themselves -- inside and out.

    Good luck with that.

    Hi baboonarse,

What have you tried to help your rosacea so far?
There are many alternatives before you need to resort to more drastic measures.

Tell us a bit more about what your symptoms are and what you have tried to alleviate them.

    Best wishes,
    Melissa

    Hi Melissa!

Ive tried absolutely everything. Tetracycline, Vitamins up the ying yang, Cream, ointments, lotions, Any brand, any method or treatment, you name it! I’ve tried them exept for this stuff called Melanotan. I have had this agonizing setback since I was 17 and now Im 24 so over the years I’ve tried lengthy trials, read books until eyes pop out of my skull yada yada. I´ve been living healthy in diffrent type of ways - Exercising, not exercising... Eating meat, not eating meat, eating straight up greens and lacklustering eats. Threw away the flask and drugs and stayed sober for 2 years but nothing worked. I know that a lot of people have this problem but my life altering disease still remains.

So given that I have done everything that is legally within my reach I still seek answer but cannot get them unless I drink a glass Jack Daniels and go all out with thing called Melanotan. I can safely say that the life Im leading is full of uncertainty and shyness.
I might want a hit of some unapproved FDA tanning stuff.

I'm sorry it is affecting your life in such an extreme way.

Have you had any type of laser or IPL treatments?

Yesum Melissa, Ive tried a few sessions but I only tried it 8 or 9 times for I didnt see any improvment and my wallet was getting thinner. Well, what can i say? I dont grow being a grumpy ol´ bastard so ill just have to exept it and maybe sunbath alot so my redness becomes more even on my face. The thing is I cant stand down on the corner beacause the car will think Im a stop sign or a red light I could cause havoc and traffic jams.

Don't worry about your spelling. It's absolutely fine.

I wish I could give you some pearls of wisdom but other than to read through all the archives I can't think of any.

You wrote that you had 8 or 9 laser treatments.
    May I ask which ones?
Many people who don't find relief with one type experience success with another.
There are so many variables with rosacea and sometimes it's hard to hit upon the right combination of things.

Best of luck and please read through the old threads. Maybe you will find something you haven't tried that may help.
As far as I understand it melatonin isn't a cure and may present more problems than it solves. There are side effects that can be dangerous.

    Best of luck!
    Melissa
