Default Hey does this look like rosacea

    http://img337.imageshack.us/my.php?i...img0011bd2.jpg

1 year after 60-80mg of accutane, i can't remember. I took this picture like 3 months ago so I don't remember if i was flushing or not. I think i wasn't. It flushes if i take a hot shower or bath, or if i go in a warm in building, or if i am nervous. It actually looks way better if i do alot of exercises. If i do alot of exercise my face goes pale and looks normal lol.

i went to the derm at 6months after accutane and he told me to just put on sunblock.

does it look like rosacea? I am thinking about going back to the derm

p.s i know the picture is dark, sorry

I can see some redness in the photo although your skin looks very healthy.

No one is going to be able to give you a proper diagnosis but I would suggest that you go back to your doctor and see what they say.

To my mind if you flush for extended periods (ie not just a quick blush), you have pain with the flushing, your face overreactes to triggers like food, heat, sun, etc then it could be rosacea.

    Best wishes

Post your worst pics, in the most unflattering light--then we may have an idea.

You look like you've got a mild nose flush, just below the bridge, but nothing else.

Look through the photos section here. ;)

We can't help if you give us beauty shots, man.

I find daylight the best but not in direct sunlight. Stand by a bright window but away from the direct light and don't use the flash

philika- thx for your input ill take a new picture today. it does flush but the flush doesnt usually last an amount of time i would deem as abnormal. going into warm buildings is probably my biggest problem, or trying to hit on girls lol. the only food i have noticed that makes my skin feel weird is sunflower seeds.

the derm seems to think it is sun damage which makes sense because I didn't use sunblock everyday when i was on accutane. time will tell

It sounds like you may have very sensitive that needs to treated very carefully to reduce the risk of pushing it into rosacea.

You need to make sure that you find a moisturiser that suits your skin, protect your skin from the sun, never use harsh topicals (ie those used for acne, steriods, etc), don't take hot showers that make you flush nor allow your skin to flush too much during exercise, and just generally be watchful.

Glad to be of help. Accutane was one of my triggers, made worse by using retin A gel afterwards. As you say good for acne but the cause of a significant amount of rosacea. I already had it but the accutane made it alot worse

If you can afford to I would recommend that you take grape seed extract +/or pycnogenol form the health food shop. This will help to strenghten capillaries and therefore cope better with flushing.
