Default RLT - ITCHY SORE EYES?

I received my acnelamp (triple headed, all red) in the week and have had four sessions. A few mins in the morning. I wear the goggles provided, with a tight fit.

    So far so good but........

Throughout the day, my eyes slowly grow more iritable.........like one gets when we have not slept for two days...........then in the evening, the eyes start to sting.......until eventually.......I'm in pain and cannot keep them open.....it's really quite bad.

A few eyes drops then sorts out the problem util the next evening.

    1. Has anyone else experienced this? If yes, what did you do about it? Was it only temporary?

    2. I wonder would I be better off with more expensive goggles? Acnelamp sell some at $125, which obviously have something, which the free ones provided do not.

    All input appreaciated.

    Thank you

Well this morning...... I wet, two small cotton wools balls.........placing them inside my goggles.......keeping my eyelids moist.

I will post tomorrow on the results. Fingers crossed.

If this fails, then I'll apply some eyedrops, immediately after my morning session, not waiting until the evening.

Perhaps its the tight fit or the material they are made from. It was a good idea to try the cotton wool. I know TP and a few others don't bother wearing any googles at all.

The goggles bothered my eyes, just as you describe. That's why I stopped wearing them.

    Really?

That pretty interesting.........any idea why this might be the case? How can it be the goggles?

    Did the soreness/irritability...vanish straight away?

Had a session with the acnelamp at 10am and jsut got back from shops.....now 5pm. Eyes were starting to bother me and sting a little, so popped in some eye drops and now better. I DID use the wet, cotton wool, this am.

So tomorrow morning, I'll try NO goggles and report back.

GOOD NEWS - THE GOGGLES ARE GUILTY AS CHARGED!!!

Tried a session without the goggles............absoulutely no problems. My eyelids/eyes have always been ultra sensitve. I got the same sensitivity, when I tried contact lenses.

So I'll get hold of another pair, hopefully with more space for my eyelids to breath!

    Hello Ben

    That’s good news.

My goggles had elastic connecting the eye pieces together and I always found them too tight despite numerous adjustments. After I started lying underneath my table I took the elastic off and just used the eye pieces loose - much more comfortable. I always keep my eyes shut during my sessions anyway and just try to relax. If you can do this it’s surprising how quickly the 15 minutes goes.

    Thanks

    Peter

    Thanks Peter

I'm lying on my bedroom floor, with the three heads positioned over my face. I'm finding it incredibly relaxing, while listening to Classic FM.

I did 10 mins this morning and will increase to 15 mins and leave it at that. Rome was not built in a day!

First impressions (don't laugh) but I swear after my 10 min session this morning, my skin looks calmer and well.............different......and I feel kinda less stressed!

Received my new goggles this morning- very groovy!

    8) ben, glad you found out the problem. I think, and this is just my opinion, that one of the reasons that RLT does work so good for some is because of the relaxation. Even just stopping our stress fiiled day for 10-15 minutes, lying down, as you do listning to music we enjoy, can also work wonders. I have not of yet tried RLT, but am so fascinated with the sucess others have had.
Hope you continue to see improvements!

My husband does a 20 minute session end of days Fridays as a destresser. He finds it very calming.
