Default You know what is cool..

How there are people from all over the world on this board. Yeah Yeah, completely off topic, but I've never been out of the U.S. and I really don't have any close friends from other countries therefore,it has been a good experience to interact with all of you, the circumstances all withstanding. Just like to say if any of you all are ever in Chicago and need advice on this city, I'm the man to talk to (lived here my entire life, worked for the city). Anyway,

    GO BEARS!

Isn't it a really high percentage of people that live in America but have never been on holiday outside of it?

I've been to a few countries (mainly in pursuit of my love for Radiohead ).

The same goes if you ever need information on where to go in Dorset (UK) you know who to ask.

I've never been out of the US because my family never had any money. To be honest, we never went on vacation in the US. I travelled a bit in my early 20's because I was a baseball player (not pro), therefore I have seen about all of the US (except the pacific northwest). I would love to visit Europe. So much history.

It is so cool how Europeans value travel. Do you speak any other languages besides English? I've heard that many Europeans are bilingual

I don't think thats true of us Brits I'm afraid. We tend to be abit crap with other languages, at least I am. I can speak only the basic french.

I guess we have the opportunity to travel fairly cheaply across Europe as its so close.

I've been to New York once and have to say it is my favourite place so far. Fantastic food, hospitality and the just sooooo much fun.

Basic French is better than my terrible Spanish. New York is a great great city, but if you think the food is good there, wow, you should really come to Chicago. That is what I miss most for getting this condition, eating all the fat foods this city is famous for. Seriously, if you come here be prepared to gain weight. Pizza, Italian Beef, Sandwiches, etc.. Chicago is widely recognized to have best food in the country.

I speak French, Spanish and Italian - I lived in Italy for a year - plus I also studied German at school. It's very easy and increasingly cheap to travel within Europe. I've been to Switzerland, Monte Carlo, France, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Germany... all on a student budget. Nowadays, I normally go on holiday to Greece in the summer

I have spent a little bit of time in the States - went to Phoenix for a week on business, which was an awesome experience. I sooo want to spend some quality time in New York though, and also on my list are Chicago, San Francisco, Vancouver and Montreal

hi everyone, i'm from Israel. I speak Hebrew and English and understand Portuguese and Spanish very well (but unfortunately don't speak them so well, i just have a huge south-American family who doesn't bother to speak Hebrew at family meetings ). i also studied some Arabic in school (the choice in Israel is between French and Arabic as a third language. English is mandatory), but that's all forgotten by now...
i really envy you Europeans and Americans, that you can travel so easily from country to country (or state to state in th U.S.)and don't need to fly and pay a lot of money in order to do that. you can simply drive or take a train and travel.
I love traveling. last year i've been to Ireland for 2.5 weeks and it was wonderful. i did a lot of hiking and saw beautiful scenery.
before that i've been to the US for 2 months and drove along the entire east coast (from Florida to main and back to New-York) it was such an amazing experience. i've also been to Scotland (fell in love with the place and the people), England, Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, Rhodes, Brazil a few city trips to London, Barcelona and Prague.
I plan to visit New-Zealand or Canada next year if i will be able to take a long vacation from work and if my rosacea will be manageable enough at the time. i also have a dream of traveling in Japan. it seems to be fascinating place with very interesting culture.
Israel is a very small country. beautiful and diverse, but small, so after doing some traveling here, you sort of find yourself going to the same places again and again.
Now, with the rosacea i can't travel so much since it's always very sunny here and also quite hot (or extremely hot) most of the year.
I especially miss going to the desert and the dead sea which are amazing.
but i keep hoping that some day i will not be so restricted by this annoying problem and until then , i settle for traveling in the winter time wearing my large straw hat (my boyfriend calls me 'Darth Vader' whenever i wear it because i wear it so low that you can't see my face)

I often think rosacea behaves like some allergies do, its always better when you go somewhere else.
I always do better in a hot dry climate with plenty of sun, amazing??
Now I suppose, Moka, you are going to tell me you were better in Ireland and Scotland which are cool and damp as here in England???

    Exactly!
    i just love your weather.
here, cloudy days are rare outside the winter.
when i was in Ireland (and then i already had rosacea) i enjoyed the cloudy sky so much! i was able to walk outside whenever i wanted and didn't have to worry about the sun.
If you like hot dry weather you should definitely come to Israel during the summer time and head south to the beautiful desert and to the city of Eilat where it never rains and even at winter the temperature doesn't go down below 20 degrees Celsius.
Actually, even before i had rosacea and just had a sensitive skin with very mild acne my skin was much better abroad.
i wonder what would have happened if i moved to a place that has cool and damp climate. at first it would have probably been great, but after some time - would the skin get used to new climate and return to be the same as before?
