Can it be dangerous to eat blood pressure meds like Inderal daily if you got perfect blood pressure? I am considering it cuz i know it helps with flushing and i recently got a prescription for pretty much unlimited Inderal 40mg's, hehe.

It's probably not a good idea. Inderal doesn't directly affect flushing, like clonidine, unless that flushing is anxiety-related because it blocks adrenaline and keeps the pulse consistently low.Originally Posted by lakan
It's good for a particularly stressful situation (i.e. public speaking) but it does have its negative side-effects. You will feel emotionally "numb," and forget about exercise. With Inderal, you can't raise your heart rate. Prepare yourself to be exhausted after walking a couple flights of stairs or across campus to the next class.
IMO, Inderal is better for special occasions. Clonidine would be better (and more effective, especially if combined with benzos or herbal anxiolytics) for long-term use.
(But do NOT use Inderal and clonidine concurrently. Wait a minimum of three days after stopping one until you use the other.)

Like Steve said Inderal is good for anxiety/adrenaline related flushing. It's used by a lot of people with normal blood pressure, for example professional musicians use it to prevent their hands sweating or shaking while they are performing.
It's also commonly used to prevent migranes, I took it for this for 8 years with no problems. When i started it i was very out of it and couldn't drive for the first week and then my body adjusted and i felt totally fine. It didn't make any different to my flushing though, except for stressful situation like public speaking. It's a very safe med, if you trial it just watch for a really slow heart rate (under 50 bpm) or circulation problems (like Raynauds).
Similarly Clondine may help to reduce certain kinds of flushes. Personally it didn't help me either but everyone is different. Trial and error is proably the only way to find out what will or won't work for you.
