Hi,
I was reading your posts to Lauren, and was wondering if I might ask your advice about low dose accutane, as you have some experience?
I took a short course of Accutane about 6 years ago, 20 mg/day, with no adverse SE. I did not complete the course, as my derm was really conservative and freaked me out about the potential SE. I tried another course about 3 years ago, (generic Accutane) and quickly started to flush. I assumed the flushing would stop when I disctontinued the drug, but it did not. Now I realize it was rosacea. I am unable to use topicals due to having really sensitive skin, and am considering really low dose Accutane for acne, and hopefully some relief of the rosacea. I have done some research, and it seems like doses as low as 2.5 mg, twice per week are effective, although it takes longer to see results. Can I ask what your experience has been, and how low of a dose you think would be effective? Also, I am concerned that it may be difficult to find a derm who will prescibe it in this way. Any advice would be really appreciated.
Kind regards,
Erika
