Please take a look at this site. Atopic dermatitis also looks like rosacea. Do you think that prolonged contact with an allergen ( even if we dont realise it because it is very mild) can lead to dermatitis like on the photos.
I have a dog which I think might be one of the causes of my allergies. I have it for 5 years, during which my rosacea and seb derm has worsened. I just wonder if those factors could have any link?
Any ideas?

Francois, I don't know for sure if your right but it is very possible. I myself have been thinking about the very same thing. I my first dog 4 years ago and have had odd allergies and skin issues ever since.
I love my dog more then anything next to my wife a daughter, but if my dog was somehow the cause, I would have to find him a new home.
I also think diet, dehydration and something in our body like our stomach might have something to do with it also.
I did a 2 day fast and noticed good improvement. I drink 16 glasses of pure filtered water with no fluoride or other chemicals in it everyday. I’m taking 10 grams of vitamin C everyday. Now that I’m not working I moisturize with Eucerin 6 times a day. My face now looks very good and almost all the red in my cheeks are gone.
I also want to try DMSO and Aspirin as it seems that the anti inflammatory action of these items can greatly help with Rosacea and the eyes.
I also want to try Red light therapy, but I need to do more reading and research on it.
I don’t believe that my Rosacea is gone or that there is a cure yet, but I would settle for simple life long treatment that would continue to work and would prevent Rosacea in it’s tracks from progressing further.

I dont know what to say. Perhaps we should have an allergy test. It will be the first thing I will have next week. I dont know if allergy tests are reliable but lets see.
Its cool that your redness has gone away. For how long do you have rosacea and which state was it before you saw any improvement?
My skin itchs all the time, weird rashes on the beard area. I relate them all to
allergy. Hope I am right and it will all get better when I put the allergen away!

I am coming to conclude my seb derm/rosacea symptoms are allergy related as well. After trying nearly all meds (accutane, itraconazole, antibiotics)/supplements/topicals intended for these conditions, nothing has really made a dent in them.
My symptoms sound similar to yours (red rash in beard, flakes, red nose). I find that my skin condition changes dramatically based on the type of enviornment I'm in. Recently went to Greece and cleared completely, but when I returned home to OR I noticed the itchy flakes and red eyes again.
I'm wondering if allergy tests are reliable as well?
10 grams of C a day?? wow!! Have you been reading Linus Pauling?Does your stomach tolerate that amount well? Vit C is supposed to have a powerful antihisthamine effect if I'm not mistaken.

I think I'm going to talk to my doctor and have to look into an allergy test also.
Yes I did come across some readings of Linus Pauling. My stomach tolerates it as long as I'm taking small doses through the day and not all at once.

.
Greece is a dry climate with cleansing salt air. I had the same results when I lived in Southern California. But I've lived in Oregon for the past 20 yrs and I think the wet weather here really adds to allergy problems...especially mold and fungi.
Our rosacea skin is more sensitive to these things cause it lacks an effective barrier. I truly believe that's why Bactrim has worked better for me than doxy, mino, etc...because it's a sulfa drug that targets fungal infections really effectively.
