I used to find this a really valuable source of information and support - and Im sure many of you still intend it to be just that, but there seems to be a lot more sniping and sarcastic comments - how does any of that help anyone. Whats the point?

excellent timing NikkiLou, listen, i had my IQ checked the other week, turns out i'm in a 50 percentile (sp?). That's five -zero - percentile, which i think you will find is above average.
The point, i believe, is not to believe everything you read, you never know, it might just someone's idea of a joke to pass the time. Having said that, i suggest that as most trolls are male that you only reply to the ladies, such as your good self. (not that i'm suggesting you talk to yourself - just reply to the other ladies).

Well, NicklyLou, I think felix's post provides all the evidence you need to diagnose the underlying problem ...
A increasing fraction of posts are either nonsensical bantering or haranguing the moderators for banning Nase. Alas, the nonsensical posters stay here, the Nase crew await the magic day when Nase and his 50 collaborators figure out how to build a site, and the rest of us ought to simply return to our origins on david's original rosacea support site at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/rosacea-support/messages
In no way is this a criticism of the moderators. All mods, past and present, have done a great service with this site. Remember, this site was set up largely to service Nase and his devotees after he was banned at yahoo ...

hoorah for Rick!
The forum you speak of went downhill when David Pascoe caved into the pleas for extra mods, guess he didn't realise what he let into his house.
any opinions on that old chap?

Both places went downhill after Dr. Nase left.

Dear prometheus,
you seem like a clever fellow. Please, could you kindly tell me what "hoist by your own petard" actually means. I would politely stress that this is a matter of urgency as i am currently swinging 10 feet above the floor.
Dear Rick,
I am sorry if i upset you, please don't think of me as a bad person. I know that you can be a bit teacher-like sometimes and i am sorry that i thought that you were being confrontational, i now know that this is not your intention and i forgive you for confusing me in this way.
Dear Mods,
I hope you are all very well.
edit - the following extract has been retained for something called literillary integrity, but i would like to point out that the statement is plainly false as it alludes to the fact that i believe that this is a fake medical self-help board. That is obviously not the case and i would like to apologise for the hurt and offence this may have caused to the hundreds of members. extract follows...
...Dear other member,

I resent the "Nase crew" remark.
Some who post only sporadically to this forum seem to have more of a fixation with Dr. Nase than any of the regulars here, since the only time they bother to post here is to deride him.
They claim he did nothing good for rosacea. Makes one ask, "What are they doing for rosacea?"
It appears that some of these folks seem to have a variation of PTSD associated with Dr. Nase...go figure....

Hey perry glad you are still knocking around,
I also think that categories are counterproductive. Don't be put off by Rick, he has a point (the jury is out on whether it is valid) but that is why young hot heads such as yourselves only stoke the flames.
Me, well i suggest that you grow thick skin (that's both of you). I have long admired your restraint in posting, i.e. biting your tongue when others leap in. These are the qualities you are admired for.
btw - thick skin is a by-product of IPL, it might help you guys to control all those hormones. I'm not saying IPL controls hormones just that truck loads of people have had really good results from IPL - it makes them happier = well-balanced (but don't take my word for it).
please find a way to get over your differences.
