I had my first photofacial a week ago and during the procedure the doctor asked me if I had been tested for lupus. I haven't. She noticed that my nail beds were blue and asked if my fingers blance when cold...they do. She said it's called Raynaud's syndrome. So I read about it and of course it's associated with Lupus. Does anyone know if the lupus rash responds well to treatment for rosacea? I've been treated with the antibiotics, gels and creams and they worked to some extent. The photofacial seems to have done some good as well. I'm really confused. I do have some aches and pains but don't we all? I guess I should get tested for lupus. Does anyone have any insight?

I have been recently under evaluation by a rhumatologist for Lupus or related autoimmune disorders. It's a simple blood test, but needs to be run and evaulated by a rhumatologist. My tests were negative, but because I do have fibro which is a chronic pain condition, the docs still want to retest my blood for the ANA antibody that is present in Lupus cases. You should ask you primary doc for a referral to a rhumey just to rule it out as Lupus presents itself with a facial rash. If you did have it, the earlier the diagnosis the better. Rox
