Hey Nat,

Good to see another muso on the board (and a hot one too....shhh, shut up Bob   )! Thanks for sharing your pictures. Infact, you skin and flushing looks very similar to my own.

Can I ask, do you perform at all?

I used to play guitar for a few bands at college, but I had to stop performing as the lights set me off something terrible.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the compliments :)
What do you mean with 'perform'? Like a model? No, I'm an arthistorian and have a good friend who's a fotographer and he made some of that posed ones. The first two pics are from before I got rosacea. I actually wore hardly any make-up, that's just how great (or at least that's how I see it now) my skin looked back then. Within a week or 2 I got fullblown rosacea.

That site has honestly nothing to do with misplaced vanity or narcism; I just liked to make a summary of the stages of my rosacea and some advice for people who don't know yet what it is. Got a lot of mails from Dutch people actually, since I posted a little on a Dutch forum and it is easy to send them to this link instead of wrting over and over again what I know about rosacea myself. I just added some really flushed pics so you can see the difference. Like many people know you just come to a point where you don't even care about how things look, as long as you don't FEEL like you're on fire and in pain.

No, I meant like perform as a musician. I noticed a photo with you leaning on a guitar, so I thought you might be in a group or something.

Your site is great though, seriously. I have boat loads of respect for those who are able to post up their pictures and experiences on the internet for others to learn from. Well done you! :)

Again, you flushing looks like mine used to be before I had IPL - that deep flush where your face is literally full to busting point. I remember that well, they're not fond memories I can tell you. Atleast now my flushes are a little more managable.

Never had the burning though, that sounds terrible. I used to get very weird sensations before and during flushes, but not actual pain.

Hi Bob,
so glad to hear you have had some relief and improvement from IPL. Hopefully I can tell similar good stories in a few months time. Long way to go still though, it feels. But luckily there seems to be good things at the horizon for rosaceans.

Sorry for interpreting your question wrong
No, I'm not a musician either. That's how stupidly posed the pic was. It had just been put in my hands because of the look, haha.

Ahhh, gotcha! Well you pulled it off either way, I had you for down for pro axe wielder (guitarist), without question

Good luck with your treatment too. Any ideas who you'll be using?

Hi BB,

'who I'll be using'? For my treatments you mean?

Natalja.

hello have you tried klonopin on special occasions?

Yes, but weirdly it always makes me more flushed in the end. No idea why, maybe a sensitivity from me for one of the ingredients..?

Sorry I can't be of more help. All I can tell is that moxonidine works particularly well for me and remeron as well.

thank you for providing this information, nat. Seems as though you have been through a hard time, i'm very sorry to read about that. Look to the future, your overseas travels are both physically and mentally draining, i'm sure that given time the doctors in your part of the world will be able to help you. How many treatments have you had exactly, perhaps you need to stick with it a little longer? Has anyone explained the possible cause of your reaction - it would be good to know this sort of thing so that it can be avoided in the future.

anyway, best of luck with your globe trotting and here's to wishing you a speedy recovery.
