I think it's important that more of us put up photos - It makes me feel GREAT to see other people having the same problem I am - Because guess what I don't see you guys on the street or in school and it's lonely being the only red one around LMAO

To let you all know if you have rosacea you need to become a master at photoshop...

Thanks for sharing your pics...it helps us all to not feel alone in this...and we've all had those bad days...somehow we survive  You're a beautiful young woman and so wise to begin treating this disease now! I think a round of low dose accutane might help. I know it made a huge difference for me...got rid of the big zits so I could concentrate on clearing up the little ones. Also, since you're into modeling you might want to know about a company called Paula's Choice that has cosmetics that are better for sensitive rosacea skin www.paulaschoice.com

Awesome - thank you so so much...

I bet you accutane would work - but I'm INCREDIBLY worried b/c of all the things I've heard about it for so long. I mean I worry about long term effects...

Your doctor can determine if you're a good cannidate for accutane or not. I did two rounds of high dose accutane without ill effect except some dryness. And for rosacea, accutane is done at a very low dose for a longer period of time so it's not the same at all and usually well tolerated. You'll also want to make changes in diet, avoiding triggers, etc. Hang in there...read everything you can and soon things will get better :D

Howdy!

I normally don't tell people to visit my website, but... well, I'm making an exception this time. Seriously - go read about my experiences with Accutane and the issues I've had. It could help with some of your reservations with Accutane. I don't know.

You are a beautiful woman. And I am a graphic artist, so I know what you mean about photoshopping yourself. I have a pic I did on my website.

An oversight on my part not to mention this before, but I've long thought that the inclusion of this photo section is a good thing.

Keep up the great work!

How is yr face on a bog standard normal day? Is there always a background redness or is it usually just pimples yr affected with?

Haha, I love the edited versions!

I remember the last time I got edited...

"Dear sir, Bob Bear appreciates your input but regretfully disagrees. He does however wish you all the best and a happy new year...", or something that effect.

ArgentinaX,

Thanks for sharing your photos, you are so much braver than me. I agree that you look great and it would take much more than a little rosacea to ruin such a pretty picture.

Btw, did I mention my name is Bob Bear and my phone number is... 8)

PS. Sorry, I'll get back in my cage now

Bob,

I hope this doesn't give you the encouragement to post your photos in a dress...

Redhotz edited my post with good humour and made a very persuasive case for doing so. Excellent moderation.

It need hardly be said that ArgentinaX is both very brave and very attractive.

I am so cowardly I have made the avoidance of having my photo taken an very art form. Hardly a shot of me exists - anywhere - post 18 yrs of age. Sweet.

Incidentally, for those people who really can't stand the thought of being snapped and who lack adequate excuses, there is a philosophical argument against the business of taking photos - the work of Erich Fromm - that works a treat.

It goes: In this shallow modern world, obsessed by material things, by possessions, the taking of photos is nothing more than a base and superficial desire to take possesion of a particular moment or a particular scene.

Tell your camera wielding father-in-law, your Auntie, your friend, that they would be better advised to actually experience the joy or profundity of the moment; to let it seep into their hearts and memories etc etc

You may get some queer looks, mind!

Actually, I would love to post some snaps. I just SERIOUSLY dont want you lot knowing my identity!

I love the rosacea community, but I also love being able to walk down the street without wondering if some dotty Nordic psycho is going to jump out a bush and beat me to death

My face is like crap on a normal day to be blunt lol ALWAYS red cheeks - the butterfly effect and now down to my chin is pink. Plus I have my pimples... It's a curious thing to always wonder what it would be like to have smooth skin on your face!

I know this quote quite well... And for a long time I believed in it. BUT I've come to the realization that my memory is HORRIBLE - and photos are great! PLUS I worked as a photo tech for a while hehe

Just wanted to thank everyone for the kind words and encouragement~!

I'll be looking for a new Dermo. in the NY area (one that specializes in rosacea treatment) and I think I'll definately talk about low dose Accutane.

Until I get it under control I'll be looking forward to the day when I don't have to wear make-up!

PS.
I'm a 21 year old MOM for those who wanted to know lol
