I would like to use these drops for my ocular roscaea. I see Dr. Wittpenn in NY and he is a very good doctor. He says to use Alrex now when I need it. What period of time is ok to use these for? Can I use, say Alrex, every day for a few months or will this be very bad for me. Thanks -Chris

Just to share what I heard from my eye dr. My eye dr prescribed Alrex when I had chalazia. And she said Alrex is a light steroid eye drop comparing to Tobradex, and I can use Alrex consecutively for 30 days.

My personal experience - When I was on Tobradex for 2 days, my eye pressure was higher than usual. While when I was on Alrex for 3 days, eye pressure stayed the usual level.

Of course it is better to play safe if possible by reducing the risk of using it. Unfortunately we do not have many option in the rosacea case.

General Precautions with Alrex:

- You should contact your doctor if pain develops, or if redness or itching gets worse.
- Tell your doctor if your symptoms do not get better within two days. He/she may want to re-evaluate your condition.
- You should not use Alrex longer than 10 days without having the pressure in your eye checked by your doctor.
