View Full Version : GliSODin - Low Level Toxicity?

I've been taking 500 mg/day of GliSODin for about a month now. (I'm not sure if it's helping, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!) I've been toying with the idea of upping my dose to 1,000 mg a day, but because I haven't seen this dose indicated anywhere, I went back to the GliSODin website to see what it said there. In the Nutraceutical Applications section of their website, it says the following:

"Individuality of Dose:
The dosing of GliSODin® depends on the clinical status of the subject. The base dose is the equivalent of 100 IU SOD per day and may be increases if necessary to 500 IU SOD per day. GliSODin® has a very low toxicity."

Here's the link to the page:

I noticed two things. One, they aren't recommending more than 500 IU's per day, and two, GliSODin has very low toxicity. (By the way, in this case, are IU's the same thing as mg's?)

Do we need to worry about this low level of toxicity? Especially those of us who may be taking more than 500 IU/day, or those of us who are planning on taking the supplement long-term?

What does everyone think?

Best Wishes,
Birgitta

I may be wrong, but I think the expression 'very low level of toxicity' should be read, here at least, as a reassurance rather than a warning.

That is to say, and on the basis that many supplements are toxic if taken in massive doses, that we are dealing with a benign substance that is well tolerated.

I may be wrong..
