Well, I was fiddling around with the wiring on this newer LED array I've been working on--finally got the tangle of wires sorted out and mounted the "towers" on an adjustable "table" so they wouldn't fall off.

If you compare this to the other array I built, this one has 6 towers of LEDs, each tower with 147 LEDs ~ somewhere around 3.75 times the light delivery of my first homemade unit (so, if you look at a three-headed Acnelamp all-red unit, that has 24 LEDs x 3 heads = 72 LEDs. My first homemade unit was 252 LEDS. This one is 6 x 147 LEDs = 882 LEDs). This one is pretty bright. I rigged up the goggles that I got with my original Acnelamp to protect my eyes (eyelids simply aren't enough protection now). I'm trying to get the treatment time down to say 20 minutes a day, or 2 10-minute sessions, say. But I'm playing around with it still and limiting my exposure time for right now. I'll keep the board updated on how things go.

The problem with packing this many LEDs together is that they are beginning to heat up to the point where I can feel it on my face--so, I may have to take a couple of the arrays out or turn down the voltage on my power supply or something else--I'm really just experimenting with this set-up--it may prove detrimental, though I think I'm still dealing with microjoules/cm2.

Here are a couple of pictures (Diet Dr. Pepper can put in for reference):

These are what the arrays look like without being hooked up:

Anyway, I'll keep playing with this and adjusting exposure time and report back.
