Is there a way to shorten links posted by people on this forum since when links are longer than the width of the page it totally distorts the thread meaning you have to constantly scroll from left to right to read it.

A lot of forums I use either have a 'hack' automatically built into the forum software that shortens longs links to make them look like this:

http://forum.rosaceagroup.org/posting.php?mode=.....

with the "...." suggesting the link has been shortened.

Or moderators just edit other people's posts to shorten the link.

Would this be possible guys?

Thanks.

Currenlty the moderators just shorten the links themselves by using the url tags. If you come across a long URL that makes you have to scroll horizontally then use the report post button as this is the quickest way to get a moderators attention.
