Just to let people know.

they should have shut down the rosacea section in my opinion, there were never any sensible discussions. It is definitely not a place for Jane_l [-( and not a place for me anymore =; God forbid that I ever stayed in such a place again [-o< Its been 37 blessed days for me since I "left" to stay with the nice and calm girls here O:)

Bob,

Its like a bad "B" Horror Film. I read Marc's message about 20 times before it sunk in. I want to say, "To the alien that now inhabits Marc, please let him go", but its a lose -- lose. :?

To be 100% honest Geoff, Im not convinced this is for the best. But I will march forward with an optimistic swagger, as always!

Marc,

Seriously, Im glad you have found a place that suits you. You're contributions here have been very constructive, and I hope that you continue along similar lines.

I guess we wont be seeing you on ESFB any time soon then.

Hopefully we won't see him at esfb. That was a wonderfull place when he wasn't there. And I would argue about his posts being constructive here. I saw him giving medical advice to someone. I hope that person realizes who fanta is and doesn't listen.

Ah, but the beauty of this place is that we have good mods keeping it all in order. This too is a great forum, as you know can discuss rosacea and never need to worry about it going south.

Marc's behaviour has been impecible (relatively speaking), and I believe there is a place for him here to contribute.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree Bob bear! I always enjoy your posts, so I look forward to interacting with you on both forums. But I don't think there is a place for marc in any help forum. It is by definition, counter productive.

Likewise, Im glad the ESFB is back up and running, for when we want to talk about issues slightless less rosacea focused (to put it mildly!).

That said, I wouldnt be surprised if send the lynch mob into the rosacea section  I do feel really bad that we let the place get shut down - the others (not using the rosacea subforum) didnt deserve that.

I actually do agree with you Bob. Marc has kept fairly consistent and constructive in this forum.

Back to ESFB, the first 24 hours has a very poor showing...

A man built a model ship from matchsticks, an endeavor which occupied his attention for many months. When he had finished he looked at what he had done and was more than satisfied, in fact it was the most splendid ship never to sail on the 7 seas.

Unfortunately, given his choice of construction material, the man became obsessed with the potential fire hazard and began vetting all visitors to his home.

Things went from bad to worse, as the man’s preoccupation with his superior model required statistical back-up - he began to count all the matches, a task which many thought ill-advised and totally unnecessary.

The funny thing was, given the peculiar nature of the match making process he was in fact counting matches which came from one source, a little tree which once sat high upon a hill.

So despite his noble intentions to produce something worthwhile and rewarding he lost sight of the true importance of the project, in fact after counting all the matches the man could no longer see a ship but a collection of matches and the beautiful ship was lost to him.

Ok,

Have it your way, if you said please do you mind not posting I would have upped sticks and left, no wonder 200 of the 550 members never post. They get booted out and locked up in the off topic dungeon!

(which i might add has been locked - are my post so precious that they have to be kept in the tower?)

It was a mistake by a moderator as the off-topic has now been locked permanently. I have moved your post back manually.

Just read Felix's brilliant post about building a model ship from matchsticks. Great little story for everyone to read - helpful in keeping yr life on track!

Hey Lirva!

This resucitation of defunct threads has an aspect of manufactured nostalgia, of backwardness, perhaps, that makes me a little melancholy.

Though Felix's post is indeed, nice.

Take care

I was really "thinking out loud." My uncle has several steam train models made with matchsticks, and it made me realise how patient one must be, and how self disciplined. It is character building. How many people have started a model of some kind, and never finished it? It shows something about a person when they see a project through to the end.

Thank you Lurva,

I had thought you said it was “interesting” via PM. It is a little dedication just for you.

I hope you are well.

Day off GJ?

Unemployment is degrading enough, without one's nose being rubbed in it. For shame!

Do matchstick modellers strike each match prior to use?
A dangerous business otherwise, I should think.

sorry, didn’t know.

They don’t use burnt matches, too bendy and brittle, makes a terrible mess.
