hello i have just turned 18 and have had mild redish cheeks and nose for around a year now, the problem is that it is perminent it doesnt flare up for around 1 - 2 hours like most roscea suffer's its always there, dont get me wrong it is very mild u can hardly see it unlesss u get close up, and cant see at all in certain lights. but on somedays its worst then others. it does not burn and it does not sting i cant feel it at all, i dont know its there untill i look in mirror. what i want to know is will it get worst?

the only time it gets really bad is when i have a hot bath or shower i can feel my cheeks burning a little and are more red then normal when i look in mirror.

i heard that rosacea suffer's do not have black heads and white heads, i was relifed to see that i do have black heads on my nose and do have the occasional white head. but im still not satified that im not suffering from rosacea.

i would also like to mention i have tiny little holes where the red is, i think they r the scars from my spots when i was younger i used to have a lot but now i dont just these damn red cheeks

and if i look really close i can see red inbetween my eyebrows and just above, also on my chin but cant really see it until i look very close.

plz help me guys is this rosacea? if it isnt then what is it?

thank you for reading.

well, hot showers and baths are rosacea triggers...and you can have rosacea and blackheads/whiteheads, they just aren't caused by rosacea.

Maybe you should see a dermatologist.

Could be just a slight inflammation from some skin care product you keep using. With rosacea, continued flushing does often result in permanent redness of the face. (I say permanent, but there are ways to "fix" the redness, like Intense Pulsed Light therapy.) I have some permanent redness, but it is like yours in that I have to look very closely to see it. At first you may be unaware that you are flushing. If rosacea progresses (and this can happen quickly or take years), you will eventually become aware of the flushing. You can have rosacea and acne at the same time. That is very common.

It should be emphasized that a diagnosis cannot be done over the internet anymore than over the phone. Furthermore, even if there were physicians here that could respond, they cannot diagnose over the internet. What you need to do is see a physician to determine the diagnosis which is the only legal and ethical thing to do. Frequent flushing is usually the tell tale sign of rosacea and you could have pre-rosacea but no one in this forum can tell you for sure. Only a physician can diagnose legally in the USA. It cannot be overstated that seeing a physician is the wisest course for diagnosis.

You could have a bit of acne and rosacea. But it could as always be something else so you should really see a skin specialist to confirm your suspicions.

Of course, it may take more than one doctor before you get a correct diagnosis.
