Thank you Geoffrey for pointing out the ethical, legal and moral obligation that the RRF has to it's donators.
I have been asking for a refund of my substantial donation since June 16th. I have tried on 4 seperate occasions and written to the appropriate authorities and each time I was given some long winded excuse as to this 'secret' upcoming grant and that it would be appreciated if I consider allowing my substantial donation to remain with the RRF.

Maria,
"We have sought advice as to how we are required to deal with requests
for refunds of donations. Given that we are not bound to honour refund
requests, in the good faith that donations were given, we'd like to
see a good result from the donations and the short life of the RRF."
We are in discussions with another organisation and hope to be able to
divest our donations to an approved research grant in the next few weeks.

So as you can see, I have been told that not only am I not entitled to a refund but that this magical grant is now 'a few weeks' away.
So I suppose, that David P's post on Yahoo R-S, posted on the 14th September, one day after he responded to my message above, is somewhat confusing. It read:
All,
I am pleased to announce that we are in the final stages of review and
approval for an exciting grant. We can't say yet what the topic is, but we
are confident that our supporters will be delighted with the grant and the
new opportunities for discovery and pathways into rosacea that it will
open.
We are hopeful that we can announce the title within a fortnight. The
grant has already been through rigorous review, and should emerge from the final reviews and processing shortly. We expect that all of the currently available funds will go towards this grant.
I'd like to sincerely thank all of our supporters for their generosity, we
can all be proud of what we have achieved.
regards,
davidp.

So if my maths is right, you have 1 week to make it known to all of us what this magical grant is which is quite confusing as it appears that literally overnight, I do not have to wait for 'several weeks' as quoted in the first message, but now we need only wait one week.
I more than anybody would love to see this money, our money, fund something which will truly help the plight of rosacea. I am hoping that you are a man of your word David P but if things are in the final stages, as Geoffrey pointed out, why not let those who have supported you, be privy to a little information, no matter how small.
If this is a ploy to prolong refunding money to donators, then I shall for the 5th time ask for my refund so I can redirect it to another one of my important charities.

MODERATOR NOTE:
This new topic is not about the NRS but about the RRF. I am watching this topic and if this turns into a nasty, rude debate I am moving this topic to the deleted section. I understand your concern for a refund from the RRF and you have been polite on this subject, but it should not be entitled the NRS and I have edited it to read 'RRF.' It should be noted that fraud has not been established and I have edited out your quoting Geoffrey on this. The RRF's mission statement is clear and I personally doubt they intentially were trying to be fishy. This forum is not ESFB and I will not tolerate any rude behavior as long as I remain a moderator. - Brady Barrows, Moderator
