Could you help me with these symptoms...
Every Dermatologist I've seen has said I have Rosacea, which I believe I do. I've had my series of IPL treatments and they do help with background redness and flushing. However, the center of my face is still red. I'm wondering if I have Seb Derm as well. These red areas are somewhat blotchy. I have some flaking but I just assumed it was dry skin. The skin on my cheeks next to my nose is the worst. The patches look red and "raised" with very large pores.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Sounds like Seb Derm. If that area is also itchy, it is for sure.

do you have dandruff, and flakes in your eyebrows? And possibly flakes on the folds of your ears? IF you have these, you probably have seb derm

Yeah if you are flaking that's almost a sure sign. Dandruff? Then most likely.

Thank you all for your advice...
I don't have dandruff throughout my scalp, but I do get flakes along my hairline. And I don't always itch, but sometimes I do. I guess that's why I wasn't sure if I had SD or not - the symptoms weren't always there all the time.
Thanks again!

I'm getting the very same thing. I never had this before my IPL treatments. But now I red blotches over my face, as well as bad dry skin. I have never really had dry skin. I mostly get it on my forehead, down the sides of my nose.... and along my eyebrows... Nastuy, nothing seems to be working to get rid of it.
I've been using E45 cream, and another one recommeded from me Derm..... The worst thing has to be the raised blotches. I had IPL to get rid of redness, not to have seb derm appear... But, some people have mentioned this to be normal after IPL... Soo, fingers crossed aye !!!
Peace

Hi SpencerK,
You said you heard this to be normal after IPL? Is it temporary or a new annoyance we have to deal with now? I don't have an appointment with my derm for another month...what are you using to help the symptoms?
Thanks,
Gina
