I would be careful with the steroid cream that close to your eyes. My derm told me to avoid getting it too close because it will cause glaucoma. Good luck.

Just use an OTC dandruff shampoo and rub it in your eyebrows when you take a shower. I recommend Nizoral shampoo. (active ingredient is ketoconazole)

Hey,

Maybe you can try Plexion SCT. It is a prescription face mask made up of sulfur and sodium sulfacetamide that is left on the skin for 10 minutes. I use it on my entire face and neck 3-4x weekly. Maybe even try a combination approach, use OTC 1% Nizoral a few times a week mixed with Neutrogena T-SAL with 3% Salicylic Acid(Dr. Nase reccomended this approach on the yahoo rosacea board awhile back for the scalp) and leave on for 5 minutes. Watch out not to get it in the eyes. Ohhhh, does it burn.

I use very diluted Bragg's apple cider vinegar and water applied daily with a Q-tip on my brows. The acv and water combo stops the itching and flaking on my brows and scalp. However, I can't use it on my face where I have seb derm everywhere ( cheeks, chin, smile lines, nose, and forehead.) I found that the OTC shampoos ( Nizoral, T-Sal, Head & Shoulders, DHS, Selsun Blue etc. dried out my face too much and caused even worse flakiness, scaling, and tiny white bumps.) I now use a small amount of Balmex for the flakes & tiny bumps. I also used a "cool" (not hot) green tea bag on my brows to stop the itching, and reduce the inflammation and sebum. The acv works better though. I found I lost more eyebrow hairs from scratching or rubbing them. I'm a female and wear facial & eye makeup ( lashes & brows), so I try to be extra careful with them. Some have had success with using castor oil to regrow brows and lashes------ but I've found that oil on my lashes seep into my eyes thus irritating my ocular rosacea while any oil on my brows make them itchy.

I have the same problem. If I apply neutrogena intensified eye mousturiser cream day and night (after washing my face) it stops redness and flaking and eye brow loss..

seb derm makes your hair fall out?

Yes, at least for me, I experienced hair loss on my scalp and eyebrows. I had never experienced that until the seb derm appeared. I think the over keratinization & oil must've plugged the follicles and impaired normal hair growth. There doesn't seem to be agreement about seb derm and hair loss amongst dermatologists; some agree while others say it is telogen effluvium or alopecia etc. After visiting several hair loss internet sites I discovered that there were MANY people experiencing seb derm and hair loss---on their scalp, lashes, and brows. Many people were using dandruff shampoos like Nizoral, DHS Zinc, and some were even using rograine for regrowth, on their brows.

I, too had experienced hair loss on the scalp, eyebrows
and eyelashes with the onset of seb derm. Took me
years to determine that as the cause. I couldn't
figure out why in my early 30s I was experiencing
hair loss.

Treating the demodex issue with Ivermectin (at least
in my case) also alleviated the hairloss.
