the complete ommission of human growth hormone in the literature on rosacea gives me pause. perhaps the estimated HGH therapy cost of approximately 20 thousand dollars a year coupled with potential side effects justify this ommission as the benefit to risk ratio would probably not be worth it. yet the fact remains, HGH has well documented effects that are extremely beneficial for skin. given the effect that HGH has on ruddy and damaged skin, i do not think it much of a stretch to infer that the effects that it would have on rosacea would be beneficial.
but new developments in human growth have yeilded another growth drug that also has beneficial side effects on the skin. the new drug uses insulin growth factor 1 to add an additional inch to your height annually! the annual cost of therapy with this new drug is once again 20 thousand dollars a year. so if your (a) wealthy, (b) short, (c) and have rosacea, then this might be your miracle drug!
(b) is oversimplified and needs to changed to "desire an anabolic effect if you are over 21" as the drug only stimulates a height increase for those who are prebusent and those who are going through puberty. after which point the drug has an intense anabolic effect (which is why I suspect that many body builders and professional football players will use it instead of HGH which also has an intense anabolic effect but has a worse (in my opinion) safety profile). for those of us who don't satisfy conditions (a), (b) and (c), this is more of an interesting and comical aside than anything else.
here is the news source. but the new york times also has an interesting right up on this which you can look up:
