After suffering for 2 years with this dreadful disease and not being able to get adequate treatment, I have decided to diet to lose enough weight so that my monthly cycles are discontinued. Flare ups are worse at certain times of the month.

Im going to see if this helps. Has anyone done this?

Dear Smudge,

I certainly understand your frustration after my own experience
with Rosacea, Seb Derm, unsightly papules and pustules
for over ten years, but please reconsider this attempt to
lose so much weight that you cease your menstral cycle.

As one who struggled with an eating disorder in her teens
and 20s, I can assure you that it is a dangerous and sometimes
lethal road to walk down.

May I suggest you talk to an understanding Gynecologist
about birth control pills that may regulate your cycle so
that it doesn't cause a problem with the breakouts, or
causes less of a problem?

Please don't sacrifice your overall health and reproductive
functions for your Rosacea. That is a no-win situation in
the long run.

Best Regards,
Beth

Yes, me being male I don't have first hand experience but I have read about people who have lost so much weight from anorexia that they lose their menstral cycle. This is NOT good for your body, and like beth said it is worse in the long run.

I posted pretty much the same sentiments in the Photo section (Smudge has a picture in the thread with mine).
