I realise this question has probably been asked.

I'm wondering what the so-called best topicals for treating facial redness (the redness that you see all the time) are? I rarely flush (when I do it's pretty bad though) and I don't have acne. I just want to treat the facial redness.

What is said to be successful and what do you guys find have helped?
Thanks!

I don't think you can really treat it very well, your best option is to cover it up instead with a green-tinted concealer mixed with moisturiser, or a tinted suncream like ZincO.

Wow, that's horribly disappointing. LOL!

Covering it really isn't an option for me...I'm on Accutane and it's helping really well but I wish it did a little more...don't we always?
Maybe I should just be happy with how it is now...it's much better than it was even a few weeks ago.

maybe an option for you is to try IPL - unfortunately you would have to stop using accutane and wait for 6 month until you can get the treatment. sry dude....

Here is my post from awhile back...

Hey,

Here is Dr. Nase's response concerning diroseal, http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/rosacea-support/message/61530
On a more personal note, I tried diroseal last Fall for a little over a month, but I didn't see any amazing results. I started it again in the winter of 2005, but again stopped after a month and a half with little improvement(overall redness did not go down). However, since my skin has calmed down considerably since my last v-beam(could have been a big factor that effected the success of this product) back in December of 2004, I may start again in the next few weeks and I hope to try it for 3-6 straight months. That should be enough time to see any improvement. I wil try to keep a photo-journal of my progress. Here is where I bought mine, https://www.feelbest.com/shop/product_display.cfm?itemid=67391402300
I believe the site is out of Ottawa, Canada. I don't think it is that expensive and it may be worth a shot. Each tube should last you about a month and a half at the very least.

Goodluck,
Ray

The clinical studies done on this product say it reduced redness. Considering the low price, I would give it a go.

Thanks a lot Ray! I appreciate it.

I'll try anything at this point.

Tryingtogetoverit, have you tried altering your diet? I found by following The Maker's Diet the constant facial redness on the right side of my face completely disappeared, and the left side of my face was getting there also. But I'm currently not doing it because 'tis a hectic time in my life. But, just my 2 cents.

My diet is pretty great as it is, but I had entertained the thought of diet being a factor. Having said that, restricting my diet further would just make more problems. I don't want to have to worry about going out, let alone where I can eat. LOL!

Thanks :) I'm still talking with my derm about exploring this, so we'll see.
