accutane dosage

Let me start off by saying that iv'e have read your book. But i'm still confused about how much accutane i should use and for how long?

Rigth now i'm on accutane usind 10mg.
And have been for 7 weeks now.

As i understand it from your book one could also use it every other day?

Have been using it 3 times in the past for acne, on a much larger dosage.
Do think that i will damage my skin more by using it again?

Lars, four times is a lot. But, 10 mgs is such a small dose. I would not want to recommend anything with your three previous treatments. Get some xrays of your bones and tendons and get the normal blood tests and that should give you a good idea. Good luck.

Dr. Nase,

I've read in two different places that Accutane could affect the bones. What exactly can it do? (I have a degeneretive disc in my back that gives me constant grief. I'm looking into doing accutane in a few months, but i want to make sure it won't harm other problems I have.)

Blood tests i've got - and they're fine.
But what about the bones? What can accutane do to our bones and tendons?

Would 5mg a day or 10mg every other day be better than 10mg a day?
If yes for how long then?
I'm not certain my derm would like the idear, she's already not very positive - and i'm probably only geting accutan for 3 months.
