Group,
I am looking for very analytical posts on this subject. There has been a lot of acecdotal reports on guafenesin helping certain rosacea symptoms and triggers.
This could be due to actions in the hypothalamus and cortical areas.
Please post your experience, but try to make as logical deductions as you can. I can then follow up with a Respiratory Physiologist to see what his input is as this is for chest congestion and Loosens Mucus.
I would also like to know how long you have taken this medication.
Thank you. Trying to collect data that is not related to fibromyalgia and more rosacea centered.

I've been taking this for about 1 month now. I haven't noticed any significant improvements in any of my Rosacea symptoms.

Thank you Ian.
What were you hoping for.... an effect on flushing?
Any side effects with treatment this long?
Thanks.

Oddly enough, I wasn't even taking this for Rosacea. For the past couple years I've been getting bronchitis every year (never happened before in my life). A couple months ago I got it really bad, almost progressed to pneumonia and was on Clarithromycin XL for a month solid. (All while on low dosage Accutane, I was a bit concerned about this - but my derm and internal medicine doc didn't seem to be very worried about it due to the extremely low dosage.)
Anyhow - the original aim was for loosening up mucus. Last year I tried Advair to help with this, but I wanted to try something different and non-steroidal. The Mucinex was recommended as an OTC thing I could try with little side effects.
Honestly - I haven't noticed any side effects or intended effects what so ever. I've been taking it twice daily. (12 hour increments) And no, no noticeable effect on flushing.

I took it for 20 days straight since I bought the 40 pill size. I could see no difference in flushing, p&p, oiliness, or skin texture. I had no side effects. As far as I'm concerned, it was a waste of $20.

Yea, I took it for over a month and it did nothing for my Rosacea. I have constant redness and bad blushing and it didnt help either. I would say its a waste of money for most people. Unless someones Rosacea is caused by some other disease that this would help, then I would say dont bother with it.
