Has anyone tried the Dove Essentials line? I have been using the sensitive essentials, but now am having difficulty finding the "sensitive" line. I bought some regular night cream and day cream. Anyone tried the non-sensitive line? Thanks.

I tried the Dove Essentials Day Lotion containing SPF 15 and it irritated my skin. Maybe try a test patch first.

I use the "sensitive" day lotion - I ended up having to order it online when about 4 drugstores I went to were out of it. FWIW, I'm on my third bottle of it and love it. The cream version made my face itch.

Is the sensitive stuff unscented?

This is the stuff with the ceramide ingredients that can build-up your skin. I couldn't find it in the UK and had to order from the US. I highly recommend it.

I am trying the Dove Sensitive Essentials Fragrance Free Day Lotion. I put it on after I wash my face at night. Then a few minutes later, I put my noritate(1% metronidazole cream) over it. No noticeable irritation yet.

Dr Nase posted this a while back on the yahoo list:
Ceramides -- these are the first substances to be shown to
actually be taken in by epidermal cells in the stratum corneum and
be physically incorporated into the cell lining. It is like filling
in a brick wall with holes in it. It has true biological actions on
the epidermis and has been shown to help reverse thinned/impaired
epidermal cells in the facial skin of patients with atopic
dermatitits. There are three main forms that have been proven to be
biologically active when placed on top of the skin in creams or
serums.
a. Ceramide 1
b. Ceramide 3
c. Ceramide 6-II (this seems to be the most biologically active)

Interesting indeed! Could this be an alternative to using laser to rebuild your skin or are we talking in such a small scale it's more or less useless when you have Accutane-thinned skin? Anyone?
