Is it ok to use OTC with Accutane? I'm thinking Neutrogena on the spot tinted applied carefully with a Qtip....have been using Maybellines EverFresh concealer and seems to work ok but I have a couple cysts...
Also, a gross question, but when the cysts appear to have a head but just SIT there, how do they resolve without taking a pin to them and..well...you know.
Do they resolve by peeling from the top? I understand that accutane pushes the sebum from the bottom of the pore UP...but if not opened, how does it heal?

Hi,
Personally, I would just use a mild cleanser without salicylic acid when on accutane. Your skin will get worse for a month or two(maybe less), but then it will start to go away. Simply, accutane is pushing all the bad stuff in your pores, to the surface. I know it is hard waiting, but I have found if I try to help things along by using other acne fighting cleansers or topical treatments, it just irritates my face even more and it takes longer for the cysts to heal. I am just curious, what dosages of accutane are you on?

I really appreciate it.
Well, I am on 10mg Sotret.
My skin, in addition to the initial breakout, is rough, scaly (but the scales or dry areas do NOT come off when I rub, and are not really alleviated by moisturizer, oddly). I have a patch of rough skin above jawline and on my chin, but it's pretty much rough all over from the neck up.
I'm using MD Forte Replenishing CLeanser, Neutrogena spf 15 moisturizer day, and their sensitive skin moisturizer nights.
Odd to feel superdry in conjunction with breaking out! Skin doesn't even feel like skin!
I'm on Premarin too.
