this describes an automated way to calculate thickness of epidermis based on tomography pictures. wonder if this could be useful to determine various settings when doing laser treatments...

I remember having a tomogram of my jawbone done once which involved multiple X-rays. It actually took quite a long time. If that is what this is, I don't think I would want to get all that unnecessary radiation of my face.

didn't find any information how time consuming this procedure is, but it's considered safe (as MRT/MRI), since there is no x-ray radiation involved...

Good find, thanks for posting the article.

I don't think just knowing thickness of the skin is enough. I think the important thing is how deep the blood vessels are. But maybe this can answer that question, too. ?
