My skin gets really shiny when I put on sunblock. Is there any (discreet) products I can put on to get a more "dry" (is it called "matte"?) look?

Hello Can't Fake Reality,
When women use foundation/make-up, they usually put powder over the top. I suppose you could use powder on top of the sunscreen. I use sunscreen, then foundation, and then finally the powder.
Hope this helps a little,

Thanks Tamara.
Do you have any examples of such a product and where to purchase it?
Also, is it hard to spot? Being a male, any "make-up" has to be extremely discreet.

Hm, I'm sorry I'm not much help with brands and all, because for years I've gone to a local salon and purchased their products. When I first started wearing makeup I went and had a makeup artist teach me about it. From time to time I go in and get new suggestions. They actually blend my liquid foundation to match my skin. I recently had them change the formula to compensate for my white sunscreen that I am wearing under it. If you have the courage (I know, it's gotta be embarrassing.) you might want to try going to a makeup artist and tell her you have rosacea etc. and what you're looking for.
The way it works is that there is a liquid foundation that is generally the color of your skin, and then over the top with a big giant brush you apply the powder, which is also properly matched for your skin. Personally, I would never try to figure out the proper colors myself, that's why I go to the professionals.
I hope I've helped a little. If you're too nervous to go to the makeup artist, you might drag a female friend or sister to the drugstore with you...

I put 'Monistat chaffing relief powder gel' on top of my sunscreen. It is a simple silicone gel with silica powder, the best and the cheapest mattifier I know. The result is perfect matte that lasts a whole day and I have an oily skin.

This is what I use:
M.A.C's Blot Powder
A unique pressed powder designed primarily to provide shine control
without adding any noticeable colour or texture. Sets foundation, finishes
faces. For use in professional situations and for frequent touch-ups. Blot
Powder contains Mica and Silica to adsorb excess oils and reduce shine
on the skin's surface. Can be applied with the puff that comes in the
compact or with a powder brush.
