I must admit, my rosacea has been much better since the recent warm weather (UK). It always suprises me - you'd think sun, heat and humidity would be a combination from hell!
Angelina,
Sounds like you've hit the hail on the head - the humidity is probably supplying the moisture you're skin needs. Also, if you live in an urban area, its likely that the polution might also be a problem for you. The air in Gran Canaria would be much cleaner I'd imagine.

I totally agree on this point. I was running three commercial-sized humidifiers this past winter in a room that is a long basement--really just two rooms without a partition. Anyway, I can't use moisturizers yet. Humidity is very helpful for those of us that can't use anything on our face. A cheap hygrometer is around 5 dollars or less at a hardware store (obviously, the humidifiers are more--and make sure you keep your wick saturated so it continues to distribute moisture). If you keep the room at 60, 65, or 70 (above that and things start to get a little funky) humidity, it's really helpful, in my experience.

I also wonder if a humid environment actually helps my skin to keep cool. The reason being, I seem to sweat (ok, glow  ) in this type of climate, and my skin feels cool/damp to touch. Whereas in the Uk I rarely sweat, I just turn beet red when exposed to any type of heat and my skin always feels rough and burning hot.

Angelina,
You've just describe the bain of my entire exsistence! How the hell can that work?
Im exactly the say:
- red hot day, very humid = moderate perspiration
- muggy dry heat (UK style  ) = Dry flushing
And I though i was the only one, haha!

Do you have very fine pores (mine are invisible) and dry rosacea skin type?
How do your cope with work (these hot dry offices are a killer for me)

try using a fan. there are scarfs with cooling beads which can be worn. i even have a portable fan. i love the humidity. the moisture cools my hot skin.

I am amazed. It is like a steambath in the summer where I live, and this is the worst time of year for my rosacea. Of course, I hardly ever sweat, even on 90 degree days, so maybe that has something to do with it.
