Howdy,
Is there a definitive list of vitamins / supplements to avoid while undergoing IPL treatments? I've searched quite a bit around the web but I can't seem to find much info on the topic.

I'm currently taking:
- vitamin B
- vitamin C
- beta-carotene
- milk thistle
- zinc

I'm not too sure if any of these supplements will interfere with IPL treatments by having some sort of effect on the blood vessels or not.

Any info on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again - Trav

can't point you to any definitive list but I know that Vit C is recommended for inflammation and skin healing so that would be one to continue.

I believe it is the grapeseed/psychnogel (sp) supplements Dr Nase recommends stopping a week before laser as they encourage fresh blood vessels to grow when yr trying to get them to die back (very laymans way of terming it  )

So in laymens terms...how is their use good for us on a day to day basis..but not right before laser/Ipl? Are they more for people who will never get laser/ipl done?

Well when yr not having laser done they encourage the vessels to be strong and healthy, therefore less likely to dilate so easily. but when yr having laser done yr working on weakening the troublesome vessels near the surface and encouraging them to die back so stronger vessels take their place. Therefore the grapeseed supplements et al would be counterproductive in this pursuit as they would cause the vessel to be in essence fighting against the laser.
