Hello Dr.Nase,

The last derm I saw, set me up for an IPL treatment with Ellipse laser for mye redness under the eyes (Almost fulle paid for by by insurance). The problem here is that he said I do not have Rosacea, even though all my symptoms fit. (Redness, burning, flushing etc) Since the treatment I'm about to have is for "not rosacea" red skin, is it any point in doing it? Lately my skin has become better, less to none flushing an less red skin (using facedoctor soap, dunno if that is whats working though).

What do you think?

Thank you,

Always follow the laws of the Universe. If it isnt broke dont try to fix it.

A question that Andrew Reid and I pondered over was the treatment of the forehead if there are no signs of rosacea there. We both opted not to have that area treated. I let it full out tan the whole summer long. Never a single problem. I can use glycolic acid, salicylic acid or anyother product on my forehead, but still must be a little careful with my centrofacial flush zone.

This would make a great study -- in the same person, biopsies and gene testing should rather easily tell us the difference between my forehead cells and my centrofacial cells.

Ok, so you don't think I should do the IPL? Personally I feel like waiting till after the summer, and re-evaluate then.

I would do probably do that.

Your welcome. September is a good month to start treatments anyway if it comes to that and you dont lose your summer.

Dr Nase,

Is Ellipse a good IPL for rosacea?

In my area, a doctor is doing IPL with this machine with less cost.
