I've been on effexor for over 3 years and want to try something new. It makes me care less about blushing but i still blush.

Any ideas?

Thanks :P

Hi there-

The majoriity of my flushing blushing is from anxiety. I have even developed panic attacks from this dang condition... so I finally sucked it up and went to my doc and asked for an anti-panic anti-depressant. I have been n Zoloft (50mg a day) for about 7 weeks. My anxiety level has dropped tremendously. Hence I flush less, and really care a whole lot less about it. So overall I think it is helping. No side effects at all. No weight gain (yet) either.
Hope this helps!

If you aren't in an anxiety-producing situation all the time, Serax (an anti-anxiety drug, not an anti-depressant) works great for social anxiety taken an hour and a half before the big event. It can just be taken when needed, like when you go to the dentist, a party, have to give a speech, perform on stage, etc. It is more effective than Prozac and SSRI drugs for that purpose. It is also much effective than Valium and Librium for many people. Can turn a wallflower into the life of the party.

i am using cymbalta 60mg and zoloft 100 mg. zoloft is calming and cymbalta helps the neural pain. does clonidine help.

I also use Cymbalta 60mg, but I can't imagine that it would help you very much as it is an SNRI, so it increases the amount of norepinephrine in your system, which the clonidine works to decrease. I must say that I've had markedly less anxiety and fidgetiness since beginning treatment with it, though.

Doxycyline 100 mg BID, Azelex, Dove Sensitive Skin Face Soap is my regimen
