Hi

I recently had an IPL my Dr. in the UK and seem to have had an extreme reaction on my chin area but not anywhere else on my face.

We're just trying to figure out why this has only happened on my chin. He's a very competent Dr. and is Bitter trained so the reason for these burns are a mystery.

I wasn't tanned in the area but hair removal in the area a month before the IPL caused a skin infection and the area had just recovered. Just wondering if the skin was still a bit tender?

Thanks

BTW it's pretty much all cleared up now about 2 weeks after treatment. :D Flushing is down too!

Wow, that is a horrible photo. I am glad it is healing. I would have recommended dressing with skin-substitutes (neonatal cells from umbilical cords) to ensure proper healing like they do with diabetic ulcers. You should also be on an antibiotic like Keflex, clarithromycin or azithromycin during this healing period.

I would not retreat the area until someone can figure out why that type of reactions. It acutally looks more like lacerations.

Good luck and please keep us posted.
