Scientists have found that some ingredients to ehance bioavailability of supplements. The biggest one right now is bioperene. It is a strong pepper derivative and can cause digestive problems and flushing to the strong spice. Read your labels. You certainly may test it out, but only change that one variable to make sure that is the culprit.

Thanks! I have been taking Super Curcumin with 5 mg. Bioperene from Life Extension. I will stop now and see if I get better. I've been taking it at bedtime for over a year and always wake up with a flush.

It may not be doing anything to your rosacea, but it is something high up on the list to remove and see what happens.

Just reporting back that after 2 weeks of being off this supplement with bioperene, I have had major improvement. I no longer wake up with a flush every morning. My ocular rosacea has improved the most. I used to think the bad morning symptoms were from my eyelids rubbing on my pillowcase at night. It was definitely a trigger in my case. Just wish I hadn't stocked up on this supplement by buying several bottles! They should warn you about this on the label. Whenever I used to eat peppers, my eyes and nose would water. If I had known bioperene was a pepper, I never would have bought this supplement in the first place.

Life Extension has a new "Super Absorbable CoQ10" product with d-Limonene, a "natural compound in orange oil that ...[makes] CoQ10 more absorbable by the body". Is d-Limonene likely to cause flushing, too?
