I was thinking about going on a 20mg dose of Paxil. Mostly, I want the drug to help with my social anxiety(i have panic attacks) and depression. I have heard it helps with some blushing episodes caused by social anxiety. Does it also help with the flushing? Anyone have experience with this drug or similar antidepressants?
Thanks in advance,
Ray

Hi Ray,
From my experience - I have Moderate/Sever Rosacea, and anxiety attacks. Most often you can't even tell i'm having an attack, but I sure as hell can feel it!
I've been on: Paxil, Zoloft, Sarafem (for women), Prozac, Wellbutrin... yup. Think that's it.
Paxil and Zoloft did nothing for me.
Sarafem is actually a version of Prozac. It worked, but Prozac is known to build up in your system and can stop working after a while. Had to quit both of those.
Wellbutrin gave me the shakes.
None of them helped with my face at all.

Thanks for the post Kelli:) I have heard that Paxil and Zoloft have no effect on some people. I cannot remember the reason why though. I may still give it a go since it is relatively cheap.

The way it was explained to me:
People have depression issues, due to hormone imbalances, etc. They start out with the easy ones (Paxil/Zoloft) I think because they have a lower reisk of side effects. If they work, then rock on! If not, then they will try out the others, which are more intense, for lack of a better way of putting it. But, since they don't know what is causing the depression or other issues, they don't know what to give you for it. It's a hit or miss kind of thing.
Sounds familiar, huh?

I have been on Zoloft for about 7 weeks now. it has helped a lot with my anxiety flushes. Just my two cents- I know everyone is different!
