Dr. Nase,

I was wondering if Dr. Darm's two week treatment is possible for those with intense flushing post IPL. I just had a regular photoderm treatment two weeks ago and my flushing seems to have worsened. For 7 days post IPL, I was on-fire non-stop, unrelieved by cooling measures. Now things are slightly better, but much more hyperreactive with much more intense flushing localized to the cheek areas. The person that treated me wants me to come back in at no charge for correction, but frankly, I'm a little scared. I did send you some better photos of whats happening, but perhaps they got lost. I'm pretty freaked out and I'm thinking about seeing Dr. Darm in a few months.

What's your take on what has happened?

Should I go back for another treatment?

Can Dr. Darm successfully treat strong post IPL flushers in the short time frame?

What do you think will be the time-line for the confocal imaging system to possibly be in Dr. Darm's hands|?

Jane,

Please send me those photos again to drnase1000@hotmail.com. Sorry.

1. All though it is still early, I dont think he has ever needed to cancel any treatment on a Monday, Wed. Friday schedule. He really draws out the pulse duration for slow heating and treats in a fashion that errs on the side of medium level trreatment, but three to four passes -- so the actual final energy delivered into the blood vessels is two to three times normal, but is secretly placed in there slowly.

He also has several great post treatment calming meds/gel masks/antihistamines/topicals.

I might give your doc one more try for free. PLease get the parameters because if it is a 560 nm filter than it tells us a lot -- tells us to move up to 590 and 640 hm.

The confocal imagiing system would be in my hands once I get there. Still going through the motions on what can realistically be done. I want things to work for once and want to dot every i.
