Does anyone know of the best course of treatment for constant burning and flushing on the cheeks? I mainly only have it on the left cheek. Almost all of the time it feels like it is burning and then when it gets real hot I flush. Most of the flushing is due to warmth/heat.
I have had IPL's performed and for the most part everything went great, except for this area.
Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am currently seeking new doctors who perform IPL and hope to locate someone who has a better understanding of Rosacea and it's problems.

Hi Patrick,

You may want to try Clonodine, an anti hypertensive. Many have had success with this med. Others have some success with beta blockers such as propananol.

Macrolide antibiotics such as Clarithromycin can be helpful also.

Another is Cymbalta which is an anti depressant but touted as good for flushing. It has had some mixed reactions however.

It's also important to make sure that you are not using any topicals on your face which can aggravate flushing. If you find that some type of topical is bothering your skin, stop it immediately. Also don't forget your sunscreen when going out.

Does anyone use a cream with clonidine in it? Just curious, not sure if they have clonidine compounded into a cream, or not. I have had good results with clonidine, but it makes me drowsy. I would love to know the results of anyone using the cream.
