Has anyone checked out this yahoo health group:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/seborrheic-dermatitis-support/ ?

Basically the routine is to drench your face and scalp with apple cider vinegar with mother and to start a strict dieting regimen. I tried it for about 4-5 months last year and it really worked well for my rosacea and seborrheic dermatitis. Within about 3 weeks of starting the routine my seb derm was completely gone and my face was a lot less sensitive to triggers in general and skin products. But the reason I stopped was because it is soooo hard to keep going because the diet is so strict and its hard to fit in 3 drenches of apple cider vinegar a day. Anyway, after a while it seemed to sort of 'contain' my rosacea on my face( i have the usual dr. nase looking face rosacea) to just certain areas. My skin has improved in sensitivity as well as texture even after being off of the treatment for about 6 months now. Just thought I would let you guys know maybe some of you will be interested. It brings up some good questions about the treatment of rosacea. Basically, acvwm(apple cider vinegar with mother) has about a 6% acidic content which you gradually work your way up to 100% acvwm drenches by diluting it with water the first couple weeks or however long it takes for you skin to get used to it. Before doing this my skin was so sensitive I couldn't even apply metrogel to it. However now my skin can basically tolerate any topical medication I put on it. I know you recommend to not fight through skin irritation Dr. Nase, but this really did help me out. I kind of felt like I was 'pre-flushing' my rosacea and each time I did it I was less red and less trigger-sensitive. Additionally, it is a 100% natural treatment regimen and you must not take any medication while doing it. I felt alot better body wise, and I looked alot better too.

I found that group and tried only the face drench part of it. Did you stick to the diet as well as the wash? I actually couldn't find the ACV with mother, I'm not sure how important the mother part is.

But I would give a positive report for how it helped with dry skin, but obviously not trying the diet means I didn't give the treatment a proper go by any means.

Yes you have to follow the routine very closely, if not 100% accurately. I think I actually tried to do it without doing the diet and I got nowhere. Then I did the diet too and I started getting significant results. Also, you have to drench your scalp also even if you dont have seb derm there. and the Mother is a very big part of the apple cider vinegar, in fact I think It's one of the main components of why it improves your rosacea/seb derm.

I know this is an OLD topic, but...

my face turned BRIGHT red five minutes after I applied 5% vinegar. I washed it off, but the flush stayed for an hour or so (my flushes typically remit quite quickly, so this was unusual). I know it was the vinegar as the flush was so bad (worse than my worst flushes, which come from hot showers), I wasn't doing anything else to induce a flush, and I could see the line where I applied the vinegar (applied it with a cotton ball, and I could see the line on my forehead between white - which had no vinegar - and red - which had vinegar). Bad, bad, bad for my rosacea. I have no idea if it effected my seb derm as I washed it off after five minutes.

basically you have progressed the rosacea and gotten rid of a little seb derm for a week or so until the underlying damage has induced new seb derm at a faster speed than before..i think you know that already

I did the apple cider thing years ago, and it was bad for my rosacea. I remember back in the 90's there was thei Frank guy who was selling this natural rosacea cure on the net for like $10. Well, being the desperate guy I was I shelled out the $10, and it was apple cider vineger. I have since learned it was an old home remedy for some. Glad it works for some.

I don't think I diluted it when I tried it, however.

Wouldn't the vinegar dilate the capillaries, therefore, making Telangiectasia
worse? Regardless, it would definitely burn my skin, even if diluted

I've been taking this orally for 3 weeks ( 4 spoons/day added to my lemon juice ) and it's sligthly but noticably improved my redness and skin texture (mild rosacea + sd )... I was hoping melanotan would be the last nail on the coffin but I went backwards with it... oh well.

I'd like to start the diet too but right now I'm craving for a big mac

hey guys, I read on the more natural form of remedies, that in order to kill the demedox mites or lice, scabies.... you can put mayonnaise and apple cider vinegar for a certain length of time to get rid of it, of course I did not try this, but very interesting non the less. I am currently using the z cream approach, and just did some of my own research and this came up, makes me wonder though.
