I'm 4 weeks post IPL and the redness and severe buning have increased 100% since treatment. Treated with640, 590 560. What went wrong so I can correct it next treatment. It's in 1.5 weeks. Should I skip the 560?
Thanks Jen

You may want to hold off on your next treatment until your skin has settled down. Pushing laser treatments on skin that's clearly irritated and hurting can really compound things. But, then again, I haven't had IPL in a while and it differs with the kind of light source you're using on how to approach the problem.

Hi jennifer,

I'm afraid I can only tell you about my experience: pretty similar to yours as it sounds after an IPL treatment with the Quantum machine, 560 filter, double pulse.
It is now 6 months after the treatment and I still have much more redness, flushing and burning then i had pre-treatment.
I didn't continue with the treatments back then, indeed in order to calm my skin down again. I will have new treatments in october approxemately, with Dr. Soldo (Lumenis One/ Yag 1064).
I have no clue if this damage will be reversable, time will tell.
In my case things calmed down a little bit, but only about 15% I think. So you might try to calm things down soon with new treatments: only the deep filter I would suggest. Dr. Soldo thinks that the more shallow filters pour too much heat in the skin too earky if used at start. So maybe you can treat your deeper veed vessels first, let your skin build up more collagen (from the IPL) and wait with the 590/ 570 and definitely everything under that (would not advice the 560 filter at all actually. Soldo says he only uses this when the skin is strong enough and after significant improvement with the rosacea).
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Please let us know how things are continuing with you! I'm thinking about posting about this, in order to find out from all others who had BAD IPL treatments what might have gone wrong and what might be the best ways to continue after this.
I think I know what horror you are going through. This pic. of me is before the IPL. If you want I send you some horror 'flaming bloody flaming' pics from after.
best wishes Natalja

so the 560 filter is really bad?
Jennifer, if you still are here could you then share your experiences, I think a lot of us would like to know if you can reverse such a bad situation, now 4 months have passed so things might have gotten much better. Gee...the 560 filter is something frightening to hear about, particularly if you are very sensitive.
